Balloon Sinuplasty

Balloon Sinuplasty

Chronic sinusitis is a widespread condition affecting millions of people across the country with an even higher prevalence in areas such as the Midwest.  Approximately one quarter of the population suffers from sinus problems during their lifetime.  The Board-Certified surgeons at Southeast Michigan Ear, Nose, and Throat are expertly trained and highly experienced in functional endoscopic sinus surgery including balloon sinuplasty.

If you’re suffering from chronic sinusitis despite conservative treatment options, then, you may be a candidate for balloon sinuplasty also known as balloon sinus dilation.  Balloon sinuplasty is typically performed in an office setting usually under local anesthesia.  A sinus balloon catheter is inserted into your narrowed sinus passages, inflated to enlarge the sinus opening, and then removed, resulting in significant improvement in sinus function and nasal breathing.  Balloon sinuplasty has minimal down time, high success rates and excellent outcomes.
