Education
Mariel earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Detroit Mercy and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan. During her nurse practitioner training, she completed a clinical rotation in otolaryngology, where she discovered her passion for ENT.

Professional Background
Mariel has experience caring for both pediatric and adult patients, including as a registered nurse at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, she specialized in managing auto-related injuries and performing head and neck examinations before joining Southeast Michigan Ear, Nose, and Throat in 2026. She is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Medical Interests
Mariel specializes in a variety of conditions, including ear infections, hearing loss, tinnitus, allergies, sinus infections and more.

Personal Interests
Outside of work, Mariel enjoys traveling, thrifting, and playing board games. She is also passionate about living a healthy lifestyle and enjoys Pilates, sunny walks, and trying new healthy recipes.

Mariel is currently accepting new patients in Dearborn.

Dr. Hackett joined Southeast Michigan Ear Nose and Throat in 2023 and works closely with the medical providers at the practice to provide a collaborative medical model that allows for true patient centered care and comprehensive hearing healthcare.
