Leena Kasmikha, M.S.,PA-C
Leena received her bachelor’s degree in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with magna cum laude honors and graduated with her masters in physician assistant studies with magna cum laude honors at the University of Detroit Mercy.
Prior to joining Southeast MI ENT in 2019, Leena began her physician assistant career at an Allergy and Asthma clinic where she effectively diagnosed, treated, and educated both adults and children on
the various conditions in the field, including, but not limited to, asthma, food and drug allergies, allergic rhinitis (hay fever), angioedema (swelling), hives (urticaria), sinusitis, eczema (atopic dermatitis), immune deficiencies, insect sing sensitivities, anaphylaxis, and allergen immunotherapy (allergy shots). After joining our team at Southeast MI ENT, she was able to expand her knowledge and skills in otolaryngology under the extensive training of Dr. Kewson, Dr. Roger Toma, and Dr. Mark Toma. Her training includes both hospital and clinical settings in the field.
Leena developed a passion for surgery during her clinical rotations. Her passion for the field of otolaryngology as a surgical sub- specialty has grown with not only the hands-on experience she has had at work, but also through her attendance at various state and international conferences where she participates in lectures, hands-on workshops, meetings, and networking events with other professionals in the field. When not at work, Leena enjoys traveling, running, kickboxing, yoga, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Leena holds certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the State of Michigan Task Force on Physician Assistants. She is also certified in ACLS/BLS/CPR, SBIRT Core Training, Botox and filler injections, and Point of Care Ultrasound. Leena is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Chaldean American Association of Health Professionals.
